Bryan's Favourite Cousin in NS


Greg McNeill of White Point, Nova Scotia, is Bryan's biggest fan in Nova Scotia. He is 7 years old and plays in Queens County in the Novice Division of the Queens County Minor Hockey Association.

Greg can be seen regularly giving his teammates, and especially his coaches, updates on Bryan's play in Barrie, Atlanta and with Team Canada.

HIs favourite NHL player is Sidney Crosby from Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, a two hour drive from White Point. He had planned to watch Sidney with the Rimouski Oceanic in person against the Halifax Mooseheads in the 2004-2005 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoffs in games three and four, but was under the weather. He had to give his tickets to game three away with seats six rows behind the Rimouski bench and his dad saw Game 4 from a little higher up.

Greg's heart dropped this past July when he was leaving a Halifax church with his parents after attending a wedding and Sidney Crosby was outside the door with his parents waiting to go in for another wedding. Greg went up to him and said "Hi" and Sidney said "Hi" back. Sidney then scooted into the church.

One day Greg hopes to meet Bryan, but doesn't like airplanes so it won't be easy. This year, Greg is number 16. His dad says it is the number of the greatest player of all time. Can you guess who it is?

Just prior to Christmas, Greg got a job at Sobey's Liverpool as "Assistant Boss". He was loved by the worker's as he promised them all a five dollar raise. Greg is shown here with store manager "the Boss", Steve Burns. Steve got a special gift from his staff just before Christmas and it's on his left wrist. It's an Atlanta Thrashers watch that shows the game time and team that Atlanta and other teams are playing each day. It also provides score updates virtually instantaneous for all NHL games. It can also be plugged into the internet for other special features. Would you believe Steve is a big Atlanta Thrashers fan?
